We learn that Raiders resurrect too. This of course begs the question, why is Scar so unique? Why is he such a good flyer? What in his previous experience led him to reckless tactics? I think the question in everyone's mind is, is this the Raider that Starbuck found? It is implied in several places. Sharon almost says as much. And Sharon would know, since she was the last one to fly it. Though that raises questions. Did that Cylon die when Starbuck cut the brain out? Or did it live on? They seemed to treat it like it was still alive. It would be interesting if that were Scar. Is it possible that that ship wasn't resurrected, but just had a new brain put in, hence the scarring?
We often talk about how war is not a video game, but apparently for Cylon Raiders it very much is! You die, then you come back and do it again. But with the resurrection ship gone, there are no more "extra lives".
Kara drinks like a fish in this episode. How long has this been going on?
The moment when time slows down and we just see the lights flashing across her helmet is reminscent of 2oo1: A Space Odyssey.
All in all, "Scar" is a pretty good episode, and I'm not usually one for Kara stories. I like the list of names at the end (they actually had a "Jolly"! I wonder if "Beano" was reference to Greenbean?) and Kara's connection to Helo, since they both knew the resistance team. Will she get to go back to Caprica? This is a definite improvement over the last one.
