Galactica 1980

Happy Days spawned Joanie Loves Chachi. All in the Family devolved into Archie Bunker's Place. Punky Brewster had a nonsensical cartoon spin-off involving a cuddly magical beast from the mystical land of Chandoon. And Battlestar Galactica gave birth to the thing we call Galactica 1980. I have heard many things about this series and how lame it is. Well, the time has come to see it for myself. Television has a history of tacking bad epilogues onto shows. The best analog really is 7th Heaven, another show that was never that good to begin with, but with a strong fanbase. It was cancelled, then brought back for a final season that bore little resemblance to the years that came before. The writing had already become laughable; that last year was unbearable. I've only just started to watch, but that's the same sense I get about Galactica 1980.
